It's Up!

My new "homepage". Yay!!

geekspace.awardspace.com

"Why??", one may ask.

Well, to start off, I needed a place where I can post my cartoons and puzzles and flash-games and stuff. And, unfortunately, the level of customization I desired was not being provided by blogger.com et al. So decided to come up with a site designed by me, from scratch.

Secondly, I wanted a "test-bench" where I can try out my PHP/MySQL/Perl-CGI/CSS/XML/Flash skills and other web design and web programming fundaes, as well as some out-of-this-world geeky experiments. Who knows, this might just be the next Google in the making..

And, of course, I wanted a space I could call my own. Like my home on the web. And wanted it to be free (for the time being) and secure, with a decent disk-space, good bandwidth and no irritating 3rd party ads.

Awardspace came up with the perfect solution. Hats off to them!

Nothing much's up as of now. But things are gonna come up soon. Keep watching.

P.S.: Oh yeah, by the way, a special thanks to Kumar Appaiah, without whose inspiration this work would never have been possible in the first place. Funny thing is, he himself doesn't know much about it either! More on that story later. Have a nice day.

My Space

Finally, I have a space of my own :).

Uploaded a Coldplay cover that I did sometime back (while trying my hands on multi-track recording using Audacity. It's a fabulous software. And best of all, it's free!).

I won't claim that what I did was a masterpiece or that it's the kind of music I usually do; I rather did it just for checking whether my account was working properly or not. But, of course, if interested, you can try it out at myspace.com/suryadeepd

And, oh yeah, it was fun for sure!

More serious stuff coming up soon, keep watching..

Oh and yeah by the way, I dedicate the song to the girl with the most beautiful pair of Green Eyes in the world ;D

Cheers!

Yay!!

Got myself a new Transcend T.Sonic 610 this Saturday. Yay!!

Plays MP3s/WMAs/WAVs. Got an FM radio and Voice Recorder too. 6 band EQ. Nice sound quality. Can display synchronized lyrics. A not-too-complicated user-interface. Doubles up as a data stick if required. USB powered. Long battery life. Small. Sexy.

In short, has everything I wanted!

And yeah, at barely 1900 bucks for a 1 GB model, doesn't burn a hole in your pocket either!

I'm loving it!
