The other side of things

What I want

* To be the vocalist/songwriter/guitarist of an electrifying 3(or4)-piece band with like-minded, talented, serious fellow musicians who are into it just for the love of music and nothing else.

* A set of guitars, a decent amp, a decent floor-equipment setup, a decent recording setup.

* To live in a small studio cum apartment, where I can also pursue my interests in art, poetry and cartooning, in a quiet, tranquil place, but not too far away from civilization.

* A computer with an unlimited broadband connection, a nice sound card and lots of disk space filled with tons of music, concert videos and sitcom episodes.

* A decent 9-to-5 day-job to support all these.

* A few like-minded, trustworthy, unpretentious close friends, who need not be mad about art and music themselves, but can understand that people can be madly passionate about certain things.

* A girl who'd be there beside me, whose love would act as a constant pillar of emotional support and source of inspiration for all my dreams; someone who understands me, and loves me for what I am, not what she can potentially turn me into. In short, a girl I can be madly in love with.

* Around 4 cups of decent, home-made tea everyday. Especially during monsoon downpours and cold winter nights (yes, I need the monsoons).

* Some quality time to spend with my Mom and Dad. And, about 6 hours of sleep and a few minutes of total joblessness everyday (I need some space between the lines). And yeah, at least one Saturday every month devoted entirely to reading.

* A trustworthy part-time maid/butler to get the essential house chores (cleaning, washing, sweeping etc) done (that's something I seriously don't enjoy doing; but I do like things neat and clean).

  • ooh i'd like that butler too, not a maid, maids sing terrible songs in english. a butler like nestor (from tintin) would be quite perfect.

    and a room on the roof, somewhere with a view to the river. don't think i can ever afford a studio, that would mean corporate slavery again, i'm a kid very badly cut out for anything such. so just a room with sky and water, a room for quietly reading and writing :D
